Dear Professional Colleagues and Friends,
As we approach the Fall season and, in so doing, begin the countdown to another year, uncertainty still makes one last stand due to the pandemic.
Yet, through it all, we are proud of the hope and resilience shown by our partner clients as we navigate both old and new changes and challenges. Our team remains committed to working tirelessly in helping navigate through these challenges while also beginning the planning cycle for 2022 and beyond. It’s no coincidence that the compass is our company sigil.
We are also excited to highlight new service offerings and recent successes in the newsletter below. Finally, we look forward to the day when we can return to work and conduct business as usual while still implementing the new tactics and practices we have learned throughout the last year and a half. Until then, we wish you a healthy and enjoyable rest of your summer!Sincerely,
Introducing Two New TCMC Practice Areas
We are proud to announce two new practices areas: TCMC Outsourced Solutions, which specializes in supporting associations, societies, and other not-for-profit organizations with in-house staff; and TCMC Executive Strategies, which provides essential services to organizations in executive transitions.
TCMC Outsourced Solutions provides an outsourcing option for organizations with existing staff for an array of specific services, namely: financial/administrative/employee benefits management; event management; and government affairs for particular industries and scopes.
These options are ideal for organizations needing varying skill levels within these areas of operations that are tough to find in one or two employees and for associations that don’t need full-service management. With the introduction of TCMC Outsourced Solutions, we are proud to offer a broader range of services that will ultimately help associations achieve their missions. Learn more about TCMC Outsourced Solutions here.
TCMC Executive Strategies’ mission is to ensure that an organization’s operations are effectively managed during executive transitions. We provide the Board and incoming executives key data points and organizational information to place the new management in the best trajectory for success. We also allow new executives to focus on mission achievement from day one, not spend countless weeks ascertaining the state of the organization’s operations. Learn more about TCMC Executive Strategies here.
We recently launched the TCMC Blog to share management best practices, advice for associations and general industry insights. We hope this content can be used to help further the missions and goals of associations across the country. Some recently featured blogs include:
The Mega HR Conference – An Example of Collaboration and Innovation
As the global pandemic wreaked havoc on the events industry in 2020, many local organizations struggled to engage members, provide interactive education and networking opportunities, and maintain financial wellness.
The TCMC team identified a software platform to elevate the online experience, allowing for streamed content, live sessions, and interactive networking features. In addition, the hybrid model of both live and on-demand sessions provided an innovative structure conducive to learning that hasn’t been seen in most virtual conferences at that point. The attendance goal for the event exceeded 9%, with a total of 436 (400 expected) participants. In terms of recertification credits offered, the plan was 20. This goal was surpassed, with 24 credits offered. SAHRA and SDSHRM both exceeded their net revenue goals by nearly 21%. The financial success of the MegaHR Conference provided both chapters relief during what was a financially crippling time for many organizations. The attendance credits offered, and financial results made the event a success beyond expectations. Read more about the MegaHR Conference here.
We are proud to share that our parent company, Core Strategic Group, received multiple major awards from the Sacramento Business Journal. In professional news, we are proud to announce that Christina Bauders earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation over the summer. The CAE credential is a marker of a committed association professional who has demonstrated the wide range of knowledge essential to manage an association and involves a prerequisite of 100 hours of continuing education units and a rigorous exam protocol. The designation is the hallmark of excellence for association executives. Tina previously earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation.
In July, David Murillo wrapped up his service as Chair of the Board of the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE), which is the premier statewide association for those in the association management profession. He will now serve as Immediate Past Chair for one more year before leaving the Board, which he joined a few years back. Various TCMC members also wrapped leadership positions within CalSAE, including Christina Bauders and Emily Mullin. In addition, Cher Ekasala is now the Chair of the Professional Development Committee.
